Chuanlord Manor in Foshan
After receiving reports of animal cruelty from an Animals Asia supporter in Hong Kong, our investigators decided to visit Chuanlord Holiday Manor in Foshan. Chuanlord Manor is a holiday complex and uses animals as unnecessary and cruel "sideshows". This includes pigs and piglets made to jump off a high platform into water and cockfighting. Xiangjiang Safari Park, Guangzhou Crocodile Farm and Chimelong International Circus
Animals Asia investigators have been visiting Xiangjiang Safari Park (formerly Panyu Safari Park) for many years. Recently it appears to have developed beyond all recognition. The safari park is now one of four animal attractions, which also include Chime-Long International Circus, Guangzhou Crocodile Park, and Chime-Long Hotel, which houses tigers as an attraction. Shenzhen Safari Park
Animals Asia investigators have been returning to this appalling place for a number of years due to its shocking treatment of animals in daily “animal performances”. Once again our investigators witnessed tigers and lions cruelly de-toothed and de-clawed to render them harmless for the shameful showmen to humiliate. Following the visit, Animals Asia has contacted the director to call for urgent veterinary attention for these bears. We have offered to meet with the director to discuss their management and husbandry, and provide advice on veterinary treatment, appropriate housing, environmental enrichment, and improved food and nutrition to enhance their overall health and welfare.

In order to encourage the first steps in this process, we have sent a copy of our “General husbandry and management practices for Asiatic black bears” and hope that this paper can lead to improvements for the management not only of the bears, but will benefit all animals housed at Shenzhen Safari Park.
